It was an offensive slugfest for two quarters Friday night between Lansdale Catholic and Plymouth Whitemarsh. The two sides racked up 49 points in the opening half, with a late Andrew Mandato touchdown pass to Matt Pinzka pulling the visiting Crusaders to within 28-21 at intermission.
But is was PW's attack that stated hot in the second half, scoring 21 straight points to earn a 49-27 victory and give coach Dan Chang - a former North Penn assistant - a winning record in his first year with the Colonials at 6-5.
After the game, LC coach Jim Algeo talked about his team's third-straight loss and also some thoughts about him being on the sidelines next year.
Lansdale Catholic senior Matt Pinzka was the Crusaders' top receiver this season, but had yet to score a touchdown. He made sure to rectify that by finding the end zone twice against the Colonials. Here is Pinzka talking after the game, including thoughts on his first score.
